I remember the smell of the beginning of Saturday evening in the summer. The freshly mowed grass, the steam and cologne from my Dad’s shower. Hashbrowns in the frying pan and steaks on the grill. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
I remember long summer afternoons on the swing hanging on the back deck.
I remember never getting out of the pool.
I remember the carpet rake — yes, we had REAL shag carpet!
I remember being very sneaky and turning each patterned dinner plate just slightly off center just to drive my Mom batty. ( I am happy to report my sister and I have taught our children to do the same thing at family events — sorry Mom!)
