Btbspl6whitelgStart your morning with a smoothie and boost your fruit and fiber intake.  Good for your body and tasty too!

Our family starts each morning with a smoothie.  My sister gave me a smoothie maker as a gift a while ago, and at the time I wasn’t sure I would use it – I was wrong.  This inexpensive tool makes the process much easier!

Mine has markings on the side for liquid and frozen ingredients – just fill and blend, no guess work.  The plunger on top allows me to stir around the frozen fruit as it is blending to avoid binding – it works like a charm.

Here is our favorite recipe:
1 fresh banana
½ cup frozen mango
5 frozen strawberries
¼ cup frozen blueberries
2 T french vanilla nonfat yogurt (all natural, no high fructose corn syrup)
OR  2 T soft tofu
1 T ground flax seed
1 ½ cup fruit and vegetable juice blend (all natural, no added sugar)

Serves 2 – drink with a straw to avoid the ‘glop’ into your face as you reach the bottom!

Enjoy a tasty start to your day to Empower Your Body and Embrace Your Heart.
