Have you forgotten to leave time to recharge this Summer?

FootballDo you look at the calendar for June, July and August and wonder how you can possibly fit anything else?

Shouldn’t Summer be a time to relax a bit and recover from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the year?

If so, why are you looking at the calendar and feeling over-scheduled and over-committed?

  • You work hard.
  • You do your best for those around you.
  • Don’t you deserve time to enjoy some relaxed time for yourself?

So, what is holding you back?

Are you having trouble saying no to other people and yes to yourself?

Are you trying to keep up with someone else?

What are you avoiding with all of the activity?

My good friend Robert Ian speaks about change and uses a list of questions to help people address their situation.  One question just jumps off the page:

What are you pretending not to know about the situation?

If you are feeling overwhelmed, take some time to think about it.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to sip iced tea and listen to the birds sing.  The time you spend quietly, taking the time to let go of the demands of your day, reduce your stress and protect your heart.

Don’t let summer pass without taking the time to recharge – you know the Fall will be busy.

  • Are your planning a vacation or can you take a few Fridays off and make some long weekends?
  • Can you enjoy your morning coffee and paper outside?
  • Can you go for a walk at lunch time?

You deserve time to put all the demands and worries down for a while, breathe deeply and give yourself credit for the wonderful person you are and the benefits you bring to those around you.

Take some time this summer – you deserve it!
