Does eating healthy sound like eating bland to you?
Heart healthy meals don’t need to be boring. Spice them up!
I received a salt-free seasonings box from Penzeys Spices for Christmas, and our whole family is delighted!
A chicken breast sprinkled with the Tuscan Sunset seasoning and broiled is delicious.
Whole grain pasta, a splash of olive oil and the Pasta Sprinkle makes a tasty side dish.
Add a green salad (try the pasta sprinkle on that too!) and you’ve got a yummy, and heart healthy meal.
Last night we made fish tacos using the Adobo seasoning on the broiled orange roughy and mixed into some low-fat sour cream. Some whole grain tortillas, tomatoes, shredded lettuce and salsa — yum!

What a great blog, with heart-inspired meals! This recipe looks great, and I haven’t seen the “no-salt” seasonings in a store before. Do you know where they were purchased? Is the online store the only option? Thanks for the healthy-heart recipes, and here’s to a healthy heart in 2009!
Thanks Harald!
Penzeys makes their own spice blends. They have stores in many areas of the country http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/penzeysstores.html?id=f6jeXTfq and there is always the on-line option. Try to find a store, it just smells so good!!
