The first Friday of February is designated as National Wear Red Day – an effort to raise awareness about Women and Heart Disease. Heart Disease is the #1 killer of all women over the age 20 – yet most women still don’t think it is THEIR personal #1 health concern.
Check out this video:
Ways to Celebrate Wear Red Day:
- Wear Red — well, yes, that would be good. If you forgot, don’t worry – red lipstick, nail polish, a hat or scarf — or a Red Dress Pin can set off a differently colored outfit.
- Tell someone! — Ask 5 women you care about to care about their own hearts. It is easy – you can simply share my video in an email, tweet it, or post it on Facebook or this funny video by Betty White.
- Do something good for your heart — Take a walk, call a friend, eat a carrot, make an appointment to find out about your heart health…
- Join the fight! — Become involved by advocating for better treatment, research, and support for women with heart disease and give generously to support the work of the American Heart Association.
Happy Wear Red Day!!
