Right now. Open your calendar and mark every available evening and weekend as committed to your holiday priorities. That way when you receive an invitation you can quite honestly say, “We have other plans.”
Those other plans may be a glass of wine in front of the fire, but those plans aren’t any less important.
Think about it.
What do you really want over the next month?
If you choose three things to make priorities, all of your other choices will be more clear.
- Stay within our budget for gifts.
- Get enough sleep.
- Have a real face-to-face conversation with my sister.
Just in case she’s reading this, let me be clear – I don’t have anything serious to discuss with my sister, I just miss her face! There are few people who can make me laugh so hard I can’t breathe and that doesn’t happen on Facebook or over the phone!
Anything that doesn’t support these priorities, well just aren’t going to fit into our plans this year. Because – we have other plans.
